Keith Lemon's Very Brillliant World Tour (previously listed as Keith Lemon's Gap Year)

Bo' Selecta comedian Leigh Francis fronted this new comedy travel show for ITV 2 as character Keith Lemon. 

Keith Lemon's Very Brilliant World Tour made by Bellyache Productions, was one of the highlights of the digital channel's winter 2008 season.   It was shot around the world on location from Japan and to Mexico by Blue Planet's team of Roy Estabrook behind the lens, and Joe Walters on sound.

 

 

The Mighty Boosh (Series 3) The return of this RTS Award winning cult comedy starring Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt was keenly anticipated and it once again lived up to its reputation as one of the most visually stunning and surreal shows on TV.  Credit is due once again to Producers Baby Cow Productions, Director Paul King, along with Blue Planet's John Sorapure as trusted DOP and his camera team of Geraint Owen and Matt Wicks.  In this series Vince Noir and Howard Moon work in Naboo's second-hand shop in Dalston, London.

 

Laura, Ben And Him  Another new comedy, lensed by DOP, Jeremy Hewson is the Avalon-produced eight-part series Laura, Ben and Him also for ITV 2.  Directed by Ben Kellett (Grown Ups), the show features "extraordinary characters and silly sketches", showcasing the talents of Perrier award winner, Laura Solon, Perrier best newcomer award winner, Ben Willbond and Hyperdrive's, Marek Larwood.  This series was commissioned after the success of the pilot show listed as, The 3rd XI.   Jeremy's team consisted of focus puller, Ian Chisholm, assistant, Matt Wicks and camera trainee, Alex Campbell.  On second camera days they were joined by Craig Loveridge, and for the "guerilla" days the team included sound recordist, Lucy Pickering.

 

 

The CGI Sketch Show is exactly what is says in the title, a new sketch show mixing live action and CGI!  It will be showing later this year on BBC 3 and is directed by Ben Wheatley.  Behind the lens was Pete Rowe with Alistair Upcraft as 2nd camera or focus puller.  On sound we had Joe Walters assisted on boom by Tom Jessup and Graham Tait.  Out as camera trainees were up and coming talents, Dan West and Matthew Robinson.

 

 

Bruce on Vegas saw Bruce Forsyth sing, dance and play his way around Las Vegas USA, a place he has been visiting for 60 years, to give the British audience an insight into the legendary place.  Directed by Lucy Kenwright, our Blue Planet team of Roy Estabrook shooting and Stuart Piggott recording sound, followed Bruce's every move.

 

 

Ideal (Series 4) - Blue Planet has also recently completed the photography of the 4th series of Ideal for BBC Comedy North in Manchester.  We once again had the pleasure to work with director Ben Fuller (Dead Ringers), on this Johnny Vegas comedy.  John Sorapure lensed the series with Geraint Owen pulling focus.

 

 

Coming Of Age - This successful Pilot aired on BBC 3, and filming for the 1st series has been completed.   The show is about five 17-year-old friends as they come of age, and is written by teenager Tim Dawson.  Shooting on location in Abingdon, was DOP John Sorapure with a camera department comprising of Geraint Owen and Matt Wicks.  The project was directed by David Sant.

 

Comedy Shuffle had a successful return to BBC 3.   This series in which different stars get to assemble the line-up each week, featured Frankie Boyle, Mark Watson, Brendon Burns, Jocelyn Jee Esien, Lucy Montgomery and Adam Buxton plus rising stars including Andrew Lawrence, Pappy's Fun Club, Colin and Fergus, Katy Wix & Anna Crilly, The Wizards, Jon Richardson and Katherine Jakeways.  Location shooting was headed by DOP, Pete Rowe who had his trusted team of Alistair Upcraft (camera) and Stuart Piggot (sound).

 

High Hopes saw DOP John Record and his assistant, Ian Pearce, in and around Cardiff shooting this comedy for BBC Wales.  Gareth Gwenlan was once again producer/ director.  The comedy follows the ups and downs of four people from the wrong side of the tracks as they form themselves into an unlikely but close-knit family.

 

 

The Green Green Grass (3rd Series) was another ratings success for BBC 1. The location element of the series was shot in Shropshire by DOP, John Sorapure, with his camera team of Geraint Owen and Matt Wicks. The Only Fools and Horses spin-off series follows Boycie and Marlene's new life in the country and was directed by Dewi Humphreys.

 

 

Comedy Decades is a brand new show set to launch a new series for UKTV Gold called 'When Were We Funniest?' .  Looking at the best British comedy from the 1960s to today - and asking the British public to ultimately decide which decade has produced the finest comedy.  Produced by BBC Entertainment, the show was lensed and lit by DOP Jeremy Hewson, with David Ferguson on sound and Dan West assisting.

   

 

Marc Wooton Exposed saw the star of High Spirits with Shirley Ghostman and My New Best Friend appear as various characters in this new sketch show that was shown on BBC 2.  Pete Rowe lensed the series with Matt Roche, Alistair Upcraft and Ian Pearce as the back up!

 

 

Soapington Way (previously listed as Xtreem Soap) is a spoof soap set in the fictional town of Waffingham.   It was created by comedian Harry Hill, who also stars in the show.  Alistair Upcraft, Ian Pearce and Johan Bjorkland made up the camera department with Pete Rowe at the helm.

s Joke Shop: PILOT – bbc1 Miranda Hart has blown her inheritance on a joke: a joke shop.

The Secret Millionaire returned to Channel 4 for a second series featuring multi-millionaires going undercover to find deserving causes for a cash donation.  Jon Wood (camera) and Stuart Piggott (sound) made up director, Abigail Priddle's talented team, catching all the action as it happened.

 

 

 

To The Manor Born - Blue Planet provided equipment and crew for a one-off revival of this BBC sitcom.  The special was shot on location in Somerset, by John Sorapure.  John was assisted by Geraint Owen and Matt Wicks.  The production starred Penelope Keith and Peter Bowles.  It was produced and directed by Gareth Gwenlan.

 

 

 

Grown Ups B - Shot on location in Manchester, DOP Jamie Cairney and his camera team of Gary Rogers and Neil Jones, worked on the second series of this BBC 3 show.  The sitcom follows the lives of a group of twenty-somethings and is directed by Ben Kellett (Laura, Ben And Him).

 

 

Songbook is an 8 part series exploring the art and craft of song writing.  Made by Liberty Bell exclusively for Sky Arts and sponsored by the Performing Right Society.  Songbook will feature an eclectic mix of talented musicians who have each achieved enormous success as a result of their captivating song writing, it including tales and sessions by Phil Collins, Mick Hucknall, Gary Kemp and David Gray.  Shot & lit by Jeremy Hewson, with additional camera by director, Jon Woods (National Trust Gardens).  Matt Wicks and Ian Chisholm assisted the camera department, with the all important sound recording headed by Stuart Piggott, with Tom Jessup assisting.

 

Happy Birthday Brucie!  Bruce Forsyth, the undisputed king of British Saturday night entertainment television, reached his landmark 80th birthday in 2008.  To mark the event the BBC celebrated the life of this remarkable entertainer with anecdotes and VT's from sectors of the media realm.  Jon Wood shot the show's links, with Lucy Pickering and Keith Branch on sound.

 

 

How To Get More Sex - This three part series for ITV 1, boldly explored the science of sexual attraction, providing insight into what draws us to someone and how we can achieve more success attracting the people we fancy.  Produced by Liberty Bell it shows celebs like Myleene Klass, Ulrika Jonsson and Brendan Cole revealing their secrets, as well as a series of experiments that road tested the theories.  The camera teams included Mark Bond & Jeremy Hewson and the sound teams included Stuart Piggott and David Ferguson.
