The Mighty Boosh: Series 2 - Tuesdays will never be the same with the return of The Mighty Boosh to BBC3.  Mid July marks the start of the second series of this surreal and critically acclaimed comedy.  Often compared to the early work of Reeves and Mortimer, the comedy duo of Julian Barratt and Noel Fielding present another series unlike any other show on television.   This series was lit by John Sorapure.   John was assisted by Geraint Owen and Ian Pearce.  Sound was recorded by Mark Found.

The Mighty Boosh: Series 2 will also break transmission boundaries, with each episode being available for download from the BBC web site.  The first episode will be available from July 19th.  Each successive episode will remain online for a week, after airing on BBC3.  Go to www.bbc.co.uk/bbc3.

 

A Bear's Tail - Leigh Francis has returned to our television sets in A Bear's Tail, produced by Bellyache and showing on Channel 4.  Following the success of Bo Selecta, Leigh takes one of his great characters one step further with his own sitcom.   Sean Pertwee, Davina McCall and Patsy Kensit also star.  Pete Rowe was DOP, with Alan Buckley as camera assistant and sound recorded by Joseph Walters.

Strictly African Dancing - After the success of Strictly Come Dancing, the BBC have adapted the format to produce Strictly African Dancing, featuring - among others - Olympic athlete Tessa Sanderson and footballer Robbie Earle.  Strictly African Dancing was a one- off event, presented by Natasha Kaplinsky, celebrating the history and culture of Africa.  BPTV Camera crews who worked on this project were Roy Estabrook, Mike Parker, Dave McCormick and, on the Sound side, Stuart Piggott, David Ferguson and Annie NeedhamIan Chisholm assisted camera.

The Catherine Tate Show: Series 2 - Catherine Tate returns to BBC2 in July and August with more intelligent and provocative comedy.  With more stand-out characters, including 'Modern Day School Girl', Catherine shows her versatility and her superb acting talents in this excellent second series.  John Sorapure, as with series one, takes DOP credit.  Camera Assistants were Geraint Owen and Ian Pearce, sound was recorded by Bob Newton.

The Lenny Henry Show - Lenny is back this summer with The Lenny Henry Show.  The Tiger Aspect produced 8 part sketch show airs on BBC1 and contains many of Lenny's best-loved characters, plus many new ones.  Jeremy Hewson was DOP, with Ian Chisholm and Ian Pearce as his assistants.   Keith Branch was sound recordist.

 

French and Saunders - The French and Saunders Christmas Special 2005 has just wrapped, and there is more fun and gaiety to expect from Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders.   The comedy duo continue with their crazy antics in a show to be aired over the festive period on the BBC.  Pete Rowe was DOP on the project, with Roy Estabrook as operator on 2nd Camera.  They were assisted by Alan Buckley and Matt Wicks, with sound recorded by Alistair Widgery.

Alive: Shipwrecked Sailors - Shipwrecked Sailors is currently in post production, after shoots in London, Malta and The Canary Islands.   Jeremy Hewson takes DOP credit on this Darlow Smithson produced Docudrama.   Alive is a 10 part series that takes on the format of the film, Touching The Void, looking at the way people survive in extreme conditions and situations.  The series will be aired on Sky One in the Autumn.

Grumpy Old Men: Series 3 - This acclaimed show, produced by Liberty Bell and airing on BBC2, returns soon for a third series.  Catching the mood of a generation, this show has been critically acclaimed and features more heavyweight contributors.   Blue Planet crew involved in this project were Jon Wood, Pete Rowe and Jeremy Hewson on camera, and Julian Chatterjee, Keith Branch and Joe Walters on Sound.
